Nikka Discovery Series Miyagikyo Peated 2021 1L. A peated Japanese single malt from Nikka’s Miyagikyo distillery, showing off its smoky side, that was released in late 2021. Aromas of toast, dry peat smoke, ripe figs and tropical fruit fill the nose, complemented by notes of honey, summer flowers, ashy peat, chocolate, vanilla and black liquorice throughout the palate.

Aroma: Sweet malt notes combine with campfire smoke and tropical fruits. Behind it some maple syrup and fresh vanilla beans.
Taste: A complex mix of various tropical fruits and spices. Plus light roasted aromas and sweet roasted almonds.
Finish: Long-lasting and sweet with tart oak notes. Followed by fruit and some smoke again.
Color: Saffron (M6).
The Nikka Miyagikyo Discovery Peated 2021 comes from the distillery of the same name on the island of Hokkaido (Japan) and is a strictly limited special bottling with an edition of 20,000 bottles worldwide. This single malt brings soft, smoky notes paired with aromas of sweet vanilla, fresh fruits and spices. In addition to the smoky fruit notes, the taste also includes tones of licorice and nuts. The Nikka Miyagikyo Discovery Peated 2021 is 48.0% vol. bottled.
